The pharmaceutical industry continues to search for innovative technologies to deliver new drug leads and candidates. In recent years, substantial advances have been made in the understanding of biological mechanisms of disease which have led to the identification of a host of new drug targets.
The conventional compound collections of the pharmaceutical industry have had limited success in providing leads when screened against many of these new targets and this results in a need to open up new areas of chemistry space. While it is relatively straightforward to find new classes of chemical compound, identifying those with different properties compared to conventional collections and which are acceptable as potential drug molecules is a much tougher challenge.
Seglin™ technology opens up access to new areas of chemistry space. Seglin molecules have intrinsic biological activity and excellent drug properties that make them highly attractive for the identification of potential new medicines.
